Go Dotty Day – is a National Day each year on 2nd October which raises awareness of the need for bereavement care for families following the loss of a child.
The date is significant for Ladybird Care Foundation as it is the birthday of Emma Pascoe, affectionately known as “Lily Ladybird” and daughter of our founding director Mr Wayne Pascoe and his wife Maree. Emma passed away at the age of 18. Read more about her story in the “About Us” section of our website.
This year, a number of wonderful supporters raised funds while having a morning tea or special event in honour of Go Dotty Day.
In the evening, we were hosted by Clayton Utz and enjoyed sunset drinks and canapes overlooking the Brisbane River where we enjoyed a view of the beautiful Story Bridge – lit up in red - for our Light the Town Red event. Many other bridges and city landmarks were also lit up red on the evening.
